“Constantin Brâncuși” University of Târgu Jiu – Faculty of Engineering, Specialization in Engineering and Management in Public Food Services and Agrotourism – has acquired the SysAgria system

The acquisition was made with the aim of familiarizing students with modern technologies used in the horticultural sector for monitoring and optimizing plant growth processes, within the framework of the Practice Laboratory Project – “Digital Technologies in Smart Fruit Growing (SMARTREE)”, funded by the Ministry of National Education and the National Council for the Financing of Higher Education.

To achieve the objectives of the project, SysAgria was equipped with meteorological sensors such as air temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, light intensity, and rainfall measurement; soil sensors measuring temperature, humidity, electrical conductivity, and pH; as well as crop-level sensors, including the electronic leaf, which measures apparent temperature and relative humidity at leaf level.

Romania holds an important position within European agriculture, ranking sixth in the EU in terms of utilized agricultural area. The development of the agricultural sector through technology represents a favorable direction for our country. The SysAgria system is entirely designed and developed by Syswin Solutions, a Romanian SME specializing in applied research and development, and a national leader in IoT solutions for Smart Cities and Precision Agriculture.

The installation took place in Târgu Jiu on September 29, 2020.
